A Landscape conservation and revitalisation scheme for the early 19th century palace complex of that links the dense, historic Jammu town with the spectacular river Tawi addressing the needs of the locals and visitors. The proposal addresses urban recreation, interpretation and a landscape setting for museums, conference facilities and heritage hotel. The design vocabulary resonates details from the surrounding built form and serves as a memory of the past inspired by the history of Kashmir landscapes.
The garden inserts in the Zenana palaces, river facing terraces and smaller complexes highlight the binary of open space within the dense built up in the complex.
